Active Directory Account Disable Sync Question

I need a solution

Is the Active Directory sync supposed to push down the updates to the Process Manager users? For example, if we disable the user in AD is it supposed to disable the user in Process Manager? If it is it doesn't look like our system is working properly as there are many users in our AD that have their accounts disabled but still have their accounts active in the Process Manager portal. I did search on the forum and KB articles but couldn't find anything on this. I didn't notice this until a user asked why disabled users are showing up in the search results for the submit forms. This is for Service Desk 7.1 SP1.
